BERRY CRUMBLE

An all time favourite dessert to please even the fussiest eater in the crowd. Easy, fast and delicious.

1 packet of frozen berries – I like to use mixed, but you can use strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.
1 cup self- raising flour
1cup brown sugar
¾ cup old fashioned oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch of salt
110 grams unsalted butter cut into small cubes
(Optional ½ cup chopped walnuts –watch for any nut allergies)

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (350 deg F) 

Whisk together flour, sugar, spices and salt. Add the butter and rub it all together with your hands and it is size of small pebbles. Put nuts in here if using them.

Place the berries in a baking dish and toss about a cup of the crumble onto the berries and mix it all together. Spread it all evenly in the dish and then top with remainder of the crumble.
Bake for roughly 30 minutes, until bubbly and brown.
Serve with ice cream.
