THE BEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD – IT’S OFFICIAL

The best island in the world according to Go Crave Rave (that has certainly provided inspiration for the Go Crave Rave products) is an obvious one. We’ve been lucky enough to travel to many exotic islands all over the globe – and none are more idyllic than Mustique. Mustique Island was made famous by Princess Margaret – who was given the land by Lord Glenconner as a wedding present and later owned a Villa there. With it’s stunning beaches and luxury accommodation, it is true paradise. This is the island where every Villa (read “house”) comes with it’s own buggy, cook, housekeeper and gardener. You drive your buggy from Villa to Villa to casually dine, drink, lay by the pool, or hop from one stunning beach to the next – all with a picnic packed by your cook. Then you can leisurely return to a three course meal with a drink of your choice awaiting you and your bed already turned down.

Mustique is never crowded, yet doesn’t seem to have an air of exclusivity. There are only two hotels on island: The Firefly and the iconic Cotton House, which exudes chic, island style and cannot be beaten.  The Tuesday night complimentary drinks at The Cotton House are always fun, and you will undoubtedly meet a mix of interesting people. The crowd on the Island is uber-cool in a private, understated way. Nobody looks sideways as Mick Jagger walks past (I may have… but that’s another story). The famous Basil’s Bar has a classic old-school island style, barefoot and basic but with every cocktail you desire. It is not uncommon to see Tommy Hilfiger, David Bowie or Mick Jagger chilling out to the local island band, and if you’re lucky, they may even join in for a private concert!

Such a special island, we really don’t want many people knowing about how amazing this place is for fear of ruining the magic it has. However, that was 5 years ago. Since then we’ve decided to run a website/blog and write about travel and life – and well, Mustique. The secret is out!

TRAVEL STYLE TIPS Travel in style to Mustique with a few GCR Tunics and rock up to Thursday night drinks at The Cotton House with a Pom Pom or a St Tropez Scarf (it gets chilly at night). The One and Only White Dress will be all that you need to galavant around in and for a possible glam occasion, the Silk Caftan. Pop on some low key Jaipur Gem Earrings to complete your night time vibe. Roll up one of the Island Range Turkish Towels to put in the bottom of the bag, throw it on the back of your golf buggy and you wont look like a rookie. Get us there now!
